PIE turns 2!

Writer's picture: Beth NunnBeth Nunn

On 22nd November, PIE turned two! That’s right, two full years as a registered Social Enterprise. To celebrate, and to launch our first full Social Impact Report, we held a party at our home in Federation House on Thursday 21st.

Words can’t describe how proud we are, here at PIE, of the impact our work has had, as highlighted by our new report. That’s why we were so keen to both launch it and celebrate PIE at the same event. Welcoming everyone who has supported us over the last two years was so valuable, and it was amazing to see our journey mapped out in faces that evening. Guests ranged from Katie and Bless, two members of one of our pilot programmes, through to local councillor Eve Holt (also of Happen CIC) who we have had the honour of working with on a number of projects.

To see a spectrum of guests so important to our progress and achievements was humbling and worthy of a toast.

A special thank you to our non-exec director Heather Kenny for her kind words about the work done by PIE over the last two years; she has seen us develop from our very origins and provided amazing encouragement and support along the way.

Another of our original supporters Nickala Torkington joined us from Flourish. As well as offering support to PIE since the outset through both Flourish and UnLtd, Nickala has produced our Social Impact report which involves an insight from a wide range of our stakeholders.

It was great to be able to celebrate our achievements and look ahead to the future. And especially to share a piece of PIE cake in the process!

Can we take this opportunity again to thank all of our friends, family, partners, clients, students and supporters over the past two years. Here’s to the next two years and beyond.
