PIE Team Day In Romiley

The team at PIE started this week with a bang! In a rare moment, we managed to co-ordinate our diaries and get together - in one room! - for a team meeting & training day with our friend Nicola from Starting Point Community Learning Partnership. Here's a few highlights of the day:

Ice Breaker

We started by discussing what we would do if we had 'one extra hour' in our day. We thought it was a good question, and we all gave different answers - all fairly reflective of our personalities! Can you guess which one of us wanted to get home to organise and which one of us wanted to sleep?

Lego Challenge

Another guessing game for you! We each were given a little bag of Lego and challenged to build something that represented us and our place in PIE. This was great for prompting conversation about our different roles, and the direction we felt we were going in, followed buy some good chat about how we fit together as a whole team! Here's what we made:

A Year of PIE

We mapped out our next calendar year taking all sorts of elements into account, from funding to staff, life events to projects beginning and ending. That was quite something to see the whole year ahead! It gave us the opportunity to spot clashes or quiet spots, and to look together at how it will hopefully unfold...

Personal Storytelling

We had a think about how our own personal story impacts & affects the work we do. This was a moment of calm reflection and such a gift to see each other clearly and really step back. The excellent, top notch sticky notes really helped with this too!

Health & Safety Interlude

We had a welcome visit from our new Health & Safety Consultant James Collins! We had to think carefully, now that we are a slightly larger team, about what possible risks there were in our line of work (slightly different for each of us!) and discussed how best to prepare for those.

General Team Catch Up & Christmas Do Planning

We ended the day with an overview of what we are all working on, and ways to best support each other in the coming months. Not to mention, much discussion of 'Extreme Day Trips' and whether we could actually do one for our Christmas Do! Watch this space...

A big thanks again to Nicola for the day, and to Start Point Coffee Shop for the lovely lunch!
