You may remember our Saturday Culture Club - a group of young community leaders, dedicated to planning activities for young people in Stockport. The aim of this project is to allow this group of young people to plan and then run projects and experiences that they would benefit from. The project is running for four months with a visit each month!
This Saturday found us at Stockport County for Culture Clubs' second activity. Our community leaders did a fantastic job, organising tickets, food and drink for 20 children. The children took part in a penalty shootout, had their faces painted and enjoyed hotdogs and burgers. The match was fantastic with Stockport County winning 4-2 after being 2-0 down at halftime.
Some of our participants had this to say:
Archie, age 9, said, “I can’t believe I’m at my first real football match.”
Mason, age 8, said, “ This is the best day ever!”
“I love County!”, said Jake, age 8.
Finn, age 8, asked, “Can we come again?”
Safe to say the children loved it! Great job community leaders! We can't wait to see what happens next month...
