An update from PIE Education

We have lots of exciting programmes running in school at the moment, so an Autumn term update is definitely needed!

Our funding from CAN has allowed us to complete The Climate Project in both Cheadle Hulme High School and Stockport School. Both groups have been full of ideas and full of enthusiasm from our very first session so it’s clear that their climate action campaigns will be successful! Cheadle Hulme High School have chosen to focus on reducing waste in their school community and Stockport School are aiming for a ‘clean green canteen’. Look out on our socials for more updates on their projects!

Elsewhere in Stockport we have launched our Positivity PIE programme for a group of Year 9 girls at Harrytown High School. We have run this programme here previously, so its great to be back and supporting the great work they do here!

Our after school Future Ready sessions at Hyde High School are in full swing! The group have already completed online personality tests and digital vision boards. They are now preparing their RAOK which they have chosen to do for domestic abuse survivors – such a worthwhile cause!

We are continuing working at Leeds Coop Academy this year with a bespoke version of our Positivity PIE programme for a group of Year 7 girls. So far, we have completed some teambuilding and icebreaker activities. Our next session before Christmas will entail the girls thinking about their own identity and incorporating this into bracelet making!

We also have started our Future Ready sessions at Unity Blackpool, which is always our longest running programme of the year. The groups are excited to begin and have heard so much already about their PIE sessions from their peers, we also have Meg (an ex student from Unity and an ex-participant of the Future Ready programme) supporting with the sessions. We will be gearing up for our RAOK (random act of kindness) before Christmas which is always a great teambuilding exercise for the groups!

Great to see the cogs turning now, ready for a great few months of programmes, keep an eye on our socials for more updates...
